Award-Winning Non-Equity theatre company, Theatre Nebula, holds its Auditions for their production of PARADE.

When

Preliminary Auditions:

By appointment only. Audition slots are approximately five minutes in duration. Appointments will be available for Sunday, June 26 and Monday, June 27, 2022, with slots between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.  (See link later in this notice to sign up.)

Callbacks:

By invitation only on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

Rehearsals:

Rehearsals will begin Monday, August 1, 2022, and typically will be held four (4) to five (5) days a week, Sundays through Thursdays. Based on role, you may not need to attend all rehearsals.

Mandatory Tech Week:

Sunday, September 11 through Friday, September 16, 2022.

Performances:

Opening Night-Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 8:00 p.m.

The Run:
Fridays at 8:00 p.m.- September 23, 30, October 7
Saturdays at 8:00 p.m.- September 17, 24, October 1, 8
Sundays at 3:00 p.m.- September 18, 25, October 2

Please be prepared to list all conflicts at auditions. Please note we will be unable to cast individuals who have a conflict with the mandatory tech week.

Metra trains, from Chicago on the east and from Harvard on the west, stop in Palatine. The station is right on the same street as the theatre, only four blocks east of the train station. All rehearsal and performance venues have free parking.    

   

Who

Seeking strong adult non-equity talent of 18+ ages with strong vocal and acting skills to bring to life this piece which contains adult themes that may be unsettling. Particularly seeking actors of diversity.

There is a $75-$100 gas/transportation stipend for actors in this production.

All roles are available. Some roles may be doubled, tripled, etc.  See the Character Breakdown.

What

Provide a current Headshot and Resume.  You should upload these to the TheaterForms link noted above. Prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of this show that best shows off your vocal abilities, and a one-minute dramatic monologue. An accompanist will be provided.  No acapella or CD accompaniment allowed.

Please arrive at the audition location at least 10 minutes prior to your audition appointment time, and bring the sheet music for your vocal selection.  There will be no dance at the preliminary auditions. Dance auditions will take place for those invited to Callbacks.
